Snap Fitness in Milton Keynes contacted us because they had been receiving complaints from a commercial business located below the gym. They were experiencing acoustic flooring issues from weights being dropped and wanted to find a flooring solution that would help. We had a timescale of 1 week to complete the work.
This was a new site that had only opened 12 months previously and the existing 20mm rubber tile simply wasn’t doing the job. We needed to find a flooring solution that would solve the acoustic issues being experienced by the commercial premises below.
Once we had met with the client and assessed the issues, we set about carrying out some on-site drop tests. This involved combining various acoustic, interstitial and rubber layers to offer a superior acoustic sandwich system. We managed to gain access to the commercial unit below the gym so we could truly understand which system performed the best.
The chosen system was our RECSystems acoustic foam and rubber tile combo which offered the best acoustic performance. The rubber EPDM surface also meant that the floor finish would be easier to maintain vs. a rubber crumb product.
We took care of the whole project from carpet removal, floor prep and the installation of the new floor. We also coordinated the equipment removal with the equipment supplier to ensure a smooth and efficient refurbishment process.
The flooring installation was completed ahead of time and on budget. We left our clients with a flooring solution that would solve the issues they were having and have received nothing but positive feedback.
